On the first day of your tour, you will be picked up from the Cochin International Airport and transferred to the hotel at Fort Cochin. In the evening you are free to go, enjoying the beach walk and exotic seafood restaurants.
Day2: Exploring Fort Kochi, the Heritage town of Kerala (Cycling : 20Kms)
After an early breakfast, you will commence your Costal Holiday in Kerala. Fitting out your bikes, you can spend your time exploring this heritage of Fort Kochi and Mattanchery town. You will be taken to ancient churches, synagogue, museums and Chinese fishing nets. In the evening, you will witness the performance of classical art forms of Kerala including Kathakali, Mohiniyattom and Kalari payattu.
Day 3: Fort kochi- Marari Beach – Vembanad Lake ( Cycling : 40 Kms)
Leaving behind the busy roads of Fort Cochin, you will hit the beach road that will take you to you Andhakaranazhi , a beautiful costal village where you will have the Lunch. Today’s ride will take you along roads that have the fishing villages and coconut plantations on one side and the sea on the other. You will reach, Marari beach by noon. Having the lunch, you could wind down by spending the afternoon on the beach. After the relaxing lap, you will be taken to the Muhamma Boat Jetty and boarded to House boat.
Day 4: Alleppey- Venice of the East (Cycling: 20 Kms)
This day morning you will be at Alleppey boat yard and you could settle in to a glorious sunrise. You cycle through the Southern port town of Alleppey. Most of the ride is through the back roads that meander along between the backwaters and the Arabian Sea. Here you get to see the natural fiber ‘coir’ being made from coconut husks, fishermen go on their daily trips and engaged in their livelihood. By evening you will be back in the cruise. The cruise will end by sunset at Pallathuruthy and you could relax in to a glorious sunset bordered against the swaying coconut palms and chorus of bird songs.
Day 5: Backwaters – Manapra (Cycling: 20 Kms)
The day’s cycling begins typically, after breakfast on the houseboat. The cycling routes are the backroads cutting through the heart of rural backwater region. Throughout the ride activities like fishing, toddy tapping etc could be witnessed , which makes the ride indelible one. They can see the water wheels(Below sea level rice farming is unique, which is made possible by draining and filling the swamp with brackish water using small pumping units). There is Opportunity to interact directly with villagers to learn about their life and culture etc.. You board the houseboat at noon for another leisurely cruise to Thakazhy for the rest of the day and come alongside to watch the magnificent sunset and enjoy dinner.
Day 6: Backwaters – Viapuram (Cycling : 20 Kms)
Today you will be riding through some of the most beautiful country roads that are as safe as they are picturesque. But watch out for that brace of ducks as they waddle across the road to an unknown rhythm or the cattle that roam the fields. Along the country trails you can see several local toddy shops that serve freshly tapped toddy along with spicy Kerala food. By noon you will be aboard the houseboat which will take you through the peaceful backwaters of Alleppey to your next cycling point at Karuvatta – a small hamlet in Alleppey.
Day 7: Backwaters – Thottapilly (Cycling : 35 Kms)
The concluding day of cycling will be an exciting ride through Village trails. The unique scenery on display all along the roadside is both thrilling and real. The still backwaters timeless in their beauty, surrounded by thick coconut groves and villagers engaged in their farming, blend seamlessly into the background. You will be visiting the Mannarasala Temple, an ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Nagaraja or the serpent god. Snake worship is unique to Kerala and is as innate to its culture as the land itself. Passing by endlessly picturesque coastal roads and quiet fisherman villages, you will finally arrive at a spillway onto the backwaters where the cycling ends. The houseboat waiting there to transport you back to the start point will also offer the magic of a sunset cruise. Just lean back and enjoy the sunset with tea and snacks.
Day 8: Alleppey
After the breakfast, you will be carried to nearest Airport
