Alappuzha is a sandy strip of land intercepted by lagoons, rivers and canals. The land is bounded by the Arabian Sea on its west. Our ride starts from Mararikulam, which is a non-descript village along the Alappuzha coast. The fishermen are seen going to the sea every day to catch fishes for their livelihood.
Kayippuram is a small hamlet along the lush green banks of Vembanad Lake. People who lives here especially men are engaged in Clams-Shell collection and Clams-shell processing, while ladies do coir weaving as source of income.
Roaming around with a bicycle is the better way to feel the life here, feel the nature and it gives some cherishable memories.
